The Taming of The Shrew
This unrehearsed performance of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew emphasized the idea of bystander complicity in the face of abusive relationships. By emphasizing the ways in which many of the characters in Shrew were complicit in Petruchio’s abuse of Kate, we highlighted relationship dynamics audience members may encounter in real life
As dramturg, I edited the script and created actors’ packets, and wrote program notes to support the production, in addition to doing some light intimacy and fight coordination.
